I love Chai, especially in winter! It tastes yummy, keeps me warm and provides healing properties.
Making your own chai is really easy. Packaged or pre-made chai often contain high amounts of sugar or dairy.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 tbsp organic, rich black tea (1-2 tea bags)
6 cardamom pods
3 whole cloves
1 inch of graded fresh ginger
2 star anise (optional)
1 cinnamon stick
3 cups pure filtered water
1 - 2 cups milk of your choice
Instructions:
Lightly crush the cardamon pods, cloves, ginger and star anise, and place in a pot
Add water and bring to boil
Add the black tea and let it simmer for a minimum of 5 minutes - the longer, the more flavour
Add your milk of choice and let is simmer for another 1-2 minutes
Enjoy
Black tea contains caffeine, therefore it is best to drink it earlier in the day.
